Motherhood is the biggest blessing in my life, and I have dedicated myself to these cuties wholeheartedly for the past 5 years. They are now at an age where they are ready to explore and spend hours playing with their friends...and so with them happy in school, I have felt a longing to get back into nursing. My apprehension with it is the long hours it demands. I know for certain that I have a pathway to follow that has already been chosen for me, and that is a great assurance. I have enlisted with an agency and spent a weekend working in hospital (in ICU) already. I definitely need to build up a resilience again though, it was emotionally exhausting because I was viewing everyone as if they were my loved ones. To be effective as a Nurse you have to be able to balance your emotions and disconnect to a degree without losing your compassion. Its a strange balance- this is why I prefer maternity! I have also started my own business as a mobile nurse, and have made a contact who wants...
