Adventures along the Garden route

  I saw there was a braai broodjie (toasted sandwich cooked on the braai) competition and decided to send in a recipe for the fun of it (and for the prizes!). I was quite surprised when I got a phone call from the George Herald inviting me to cook for the judges...and I ended up winning! We won a weekend away, and a pedicure, some wine and a voucher for the local butchery. This little man had a great birthday, he had a hockey tournament in the morning, and he wanted a sports party at the bike park which we had over lunch time. After the awesome party, I went off to play my hockey match... And defended a goal (and my teeth) with my arm...But this was the price. Not even 10cm from my last break! I had to make a call whether to have a plate put in or wear a cast for 6 weeks. What a hard decision! I decided since the positioning was tricky and a plate would need to be removed in a second op, I would stick to conventional healing... a true test of patience for me...not being able to tie...

During the June school holidays we had lots of fun, beach, playdates with friends.   Lils and her BFF Shea having an icecream Sushi with the Montague girls- Paige, Chloe and Daniela. Paige and LJ at holiday club- every day had a theme and this was superhero day. Levi, Jack, LJ and Zach. We had a visit from the Bertrand CT family, and enjoyed showing them some of George including the berry farm.  The Barretts followed the Bertrands and arrived after driving ALL the way from Blantyre! It was a real treat to have a beautiful sunny weekend to show off our beaches before the rain set in. Special memories. The Holmgrens followed shortly and what better way to celebrate than by going out for sush :) First top tooth gone. And last but not least the Fergies joined us too! All my siblings on holiday together- what a treat! We did the treetop obstacle course, the kids were absolute champions and it was lots of fun.
